Physiotherapy promotes mobility, function, and quality of life through examination, diagnosis, and physical intervention.At the core is the patient's involvement in their own care, through education, awareness, empowerment and participation in their treatment.
Darcy graduated from the University of the Fraser Valley with a Bachelor of Kinesiology in 2002 and received his Master of Science in Physiotherapy from the University of Alberta in 2006. In 2009, he received his FCAMPT designation.
Darcy completed his transitional Doctorate in Physical Therapy (D.P.T.) in 2016. Darcy has also earned his certification in Gunn Intramuscular Stimulation (IMS) through the Institute for the Study and Treatment of Pain (iStop) and his acupuncture certification through the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute. Darcy is also an Affiliated Clinical Educator with the University of Alberta Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine.
Darcy's advanced training allows him to treat a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions, although he has a special interest in spinal and TMJ related injuries. In clinical practice, his treatment philosophy includes using a combination of manual therapy and needling to restore joint mechanics, followed by muscle retraining and motor control strategies to correct movement dysfunctions.
Darcy is actively involved in mentoring students who are completing extensive post graduate education in the area of orthopaedic manual therapy, and he has held the position of Vice President, President and Past President of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy (CAMPT).
Teri is a Registered Physiotherapist with degrees from Wilfred Laurier University (Bachelor of Science Biology) and the University of Alberta (Masters in Physical Therapy). Upon graduating, she specialized in orthopaedic physiotherapy.
Teri is particularly interested in manual therapy and intramuscular stimulation (IMS). She has completed numerous manual therapy courses including the Mulligan concept, Modern MSK spinal manipulation, and various levels of the advanced integrated musculoskeletal physiotherapy program. She is rostered to perform spinal manipulation and intramuscular stimulation (IMS). Her interest in orthopedics and sports medicine has led her to treat a variety of age groups and injuries including motor vehicle accidents, sports injuries, and other neuromuscular dysfunction.
Teri strongly believes in finding the root cause of your injury and conducts her assessments and treatments by considering the body as a whole. She implements a variety of treatment techniques including manual therapy, intramuscular stimulation, and exercise therapy to restore function and prevent further injuries.
In her spare time, Teri enjoys anything that gets her outdoors and spending time with her family and friends.
Nicole graduated from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Kinesiology with Distinction in 2019 and received her Master of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Alberta in 2023.
Nicole has a special interest in treating individuals with a wide variety of vestibular issues, having completed further advanced certification in vestibular assessment and treatment.
In clinical practice, she strives to provide a highly personalized approach to rehabilitation ranging from sport related injuries to everyday aches and pains. Her approach includes a combination of patient education, manual therapy techniques, and personalized therapeutic exercise prescription. Nicole’s goal with rehabilitation is to restore patient’s function with an emphasis on building patient independence when dealing with injury.
Born and raised in Saskatoon, Jessica completed her studies at the University of Saskatchewan. She received her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, minoring in exercise and sport studies and went on to pursue her Masters of Physical Therapy.
Jessica has a passion for sport and fitness. Out of the clinic, Jessica can often be found hiking, wakesurfing, strength training or traveling.
Clinically, Jessica utilizes manual therapy and thoughtfully prescribed exercises to optimize her clients' outcomes and improve overall well-being. Jessica believes in a preventative rehab approach to get clients back to where they want to be and prevent future injuries!
Jet was born and raised in Vancouver, BC. She earned her Bachelor of Kinesiology from the University of Regina in 2020 before pursuing her Master of Science in Physical Therapy at Queen’s University.
Jet has a passion for sport and fitness. Jet played varsity soccer for five years throughout her undergraduate degree and played one year on a semi-professional soccer team in Saskatchewan. Outside of the clinic, Jet continues to play competitive soccer and enjoys staying active with activities such as running, hiking, and strength training.
In her clinical practice, Jet employs manual therapy techniques along with carefully tailored exercise regimens to enhance the outcomes of her clients and enhance their general wellness. She advocates for a proactive rehabilitation strategy aimed at restoring clients to their desired level of function while mitigating the risk of future injuries.
Sydney was born and raised in Calgary, AB. She went to Edmonton to attend the University of Alberta where she graduated with a Bachelor of Kinesiology with distinction in 2021 and Master of Science in Physical Therapy in 2024.
Sydney's approach is to make your physiotherapy a collaborative experience tailored to your specific needs. Sydney approaches treatment with a combination of manual therapy, education, and prescription of a comprehensive & progressive exercise program.
Sydney grew up dancing which gave her an appreciation for movement and the importance of exercise. She applies this to her current practice with an individualized approach to help her patients reach their goals.
Trisha graduated from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Kinesiology with Distinction in 2010 and received her Master of Science in Physiotherapy from University of Alberta in 2012.
In 2018, she received her Diploma of Advanced Manual and Manipulative Therapy from the Orthopaedic Division. She is a Fellow with the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapists (FCAMPT). Trisha has also earned her certification in Gunn Intramuscular Stimulation (IMS) through the University of British Columbia and secondary certificates in Mobilization of the Myofascial System (MMS) and Custom Knee Bracing.
Her advanced training allows her to treat a wide variety of musculoskeletal conditions, with a special interest in sport and spinal related injuries. In clinical practice, her philosophy includes using a combination of manual therapy and dry-needling techniques to restore normal joint mobility and tissue extensibility followed by an individualized prescription of focused exercise techniques to restore function and ultimately reduce injury reoccurrence.
